Destani’s Piece circlesinging workshop is an hour long vocal workshop celebrating the power of spontaneous song, soulful expression, and human connection through the voice. This gathering invites people from all walks of life to explore the magic that happens when voices come together in real time — without judgment, without sheet music, and with deep listening at the center.
Facilitated by Destani Wolf, a powerhouse vocalist known for her soul-stirring presence and genre-crossing vocal artistry this circlesinging offering invites you into the transformational potential of improvised sound, a living, breathing experience of musical empathy and collective creativity. These sessions offers opportunities to explore rhythm, harmony, movement, and storytelling through guided circlesongs and open-hearted collaboration.

Flock recently premiered at The Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas and will continue it’s migration home to Oakland as Somewhere to Land. Featuring Collab choir guided by Destani Wolf of Destani’s Piece.

BANDALOOP’s multi-part, vertical dance public art project FLOCK, responding to sites and paths for human and bird migration.
“Wolf and Juodvalkis have composed a living multi-lingual song cycle around themes of bird migration and human migration,” says BANDALOOP Artistic Director Melecio Estrella. “Migratory birds, directed by ancient internal maps, can perhaps inspire us to consider our own personal migration stories and what wisdom they may hold for us as we navigate the ever increasing changes and challenges of environmental and social change.”

FLOCK is a vertical dance theater performance expressing a magic-realism story of a colorful child traveling across a precarious sky as both bird and human, surrounded by the love and protection of a familial flock. Creative development of the work will form from choreographic research into avian flocking behaviors and personal and community migration story-sharing. Performed high above the ground on the side of a building, FLOCK brings together vertical dance, multilingual music, and stunning visuals into an a one-of-a-kind, site-responsive live performance experience in honor of migrating children and families.
