Destani Wolf, Berkeley’s own, uplifting Vocalist, is celebrated by Jazz Times as one of the “West Coast’s most inventive vocalists…also an accomplished improviser.” Known for her effortless vocal range and healing sultry sound, Destani Wolf, forged her own path, with original genre-defying songs with impeccable vocal prowess as a conduit for spiritual awakening .
From performing at 15 at the iconic Great American Music Hall, to recording on over 40 albums including 3 GRAMMY Nominated albums, to being a part of the creation and traveling the world as the lead vocalist of Cirque du Soleil’s “BAZZAR”, she has dedicated her path to instilling joy, community and hope in every performance with songs that defines the Bay Area and Cali-Soul sound.
She’s serenaded audiences on preeminent stages from San Francisco to New York, including Yoshi’s, SFJazz Center, Joe’s Pub, Grand Performances, Stern Grove Festival, Lincoln Center and all over the world. Her first vocals on a GRAMMY nominated album was with John Santos and 2nd featured GRAMMY-nominated vocalist on Jose Rizo’s MongoRama album. Destani has also recorded and/or sung with Matisyahu and producer KoOol Kojak, The Pharcyde, the Velvet Underground’s John Cale, Bobby McFerrin and more.
She released her self produced nu-soul throwback EP Peek Away won a 2015 Independent Music Award. She also crafted compositions and sang for TV, Games and films including Disney’s “The Descendants,” Kevin Hart’s “Laugh at my Pain,” HBO’s “Momentum Generation,” Call of Duty MWII, FOX “So You Think You Can Dance,” and more.
At work on another collection of original songs set to release in 2026, in between improvising as a member of Bobby McFerrin’s MOTION while collaborating and touring with Bandaloop Aerial Dance company, Destani is always embarking in new directions. From partnering with UNHCR to create healing music for the soul, her quest to be a vehicle with her voice in service of her community and the world, manifests in unexpected and fulfilling ways. Connecting hearts through music and the power of her voice, she draws on global, fresh and unconventional influences, her latest music is inspired by the ever-evolving, bold, and authentic lyrics.
