After two years of touring India and the Middle East with Cirque Du Soleil, lead singer Destani Wolf’s US Tour was canceled and she returned home like most of the world in 2020. During this time of reflection and through her quest for inner peace and self motivation, Wolf created a music healing project called Destani’s Piece.
Destani’s Piece encompasses meditative properties like binaural beats, solfeggio frequencies, calming instruments such as Tibetan bowls, the bansuri flute and the vulnerability of her soul filled vocals melodically dancing over a sea of tranquil sound. These elements resonate in her upcoming Single “Solar Elevation” featuring Lester Paredes, intended to relax the Solar Plexus Chakra (528 Hz), heal the heart and ignite creativity by stimulating Theta brainwaves.
“Solar Elevation” began In her living room studio when Wolf picked up the shruti box she bought from a small store on the bustling streets of Mumbai. With it she created vocal drones she turned into frequencies that led to binaural beats. In isolation, she reached out to her musician friends across the world. Her Cirque bandmates from Venezuela ( Lester Paredes-flute) and Greece (Petros Sakelliou-piano) sent tracks from their homes which she produced and wrote into her future album. The album also includes incredible Cali collaborators MIguel Atwood-Ferguson (Viola) and Destiny Muhammad (harp) and is mixed by SINES creator/producer Greg Papania.
Focused on healing, the stars aligned and her work was enhanced when connected with the brilliant improviser Bobby McFerrin. As a member of his a cappella band MOTION, she’s able to contribute through song to an open heart space for her community. Destani’s Piece is a sonic path towards musical mindfulness to promote transformative change and peace.
